Butlin’s finally sets reopening date

The countdown is now on!

By Local Democracy Reporter

Butlin’s will reopen its three holiday resorts, including Skegness, on Friday, July 24.

The reopening has been delayed numerous times, as people awaited government approval for outdoor entertainment.

The announcement came from government on Thursday that outdoor events could take place in two weeks time.

Butlin’s has confirmed that it will be building new outdoor stages for live entertainment, as well as an open-air circus arena.

Indoor venues are now cinema-style theatres designed to show pre-recorded performances.

There will also be significantly reduced guest numbers, as well as drive-through check-ins and frequent cleaning.

In a statement posted to social media, Butlin’s said it was “bursting with excitement” to announce the news.

“As you know we’ve been waiting on government clarification around the opening of our pools and live entertainment.

“We know how important these are to your Butlin’s experience, and we didn’t want to open until we could give you a summer like no other!

We’re so happy to announce today that our fabulous pools will be open for your break.”

Residents who had booked a stay between July 24 and August 7 will receive an email on Friday with information about their break.
