Night time training at RAF Coningsby this week

Expect some overnight training around the RAF base

By Local Democracy Reporter

RAF Coningsby has brought back night time flight training this week for the first time in over a month.

The overnight flying schedule for the base’s aircrafts has been limited recently, with the last training taking place between June 8 and June 11.

Night training usually takes place from Monday to Thursday and can take place from anywhere between 30 minutes after sunset and 30 minutes before sunrise.

Local residents have been warned of the noise and potential disturbance this may cause.

RAF Coningsby said: “Operating at night is a perishable skill that has to be practiced and refreshed.

“Apologies in advance for any disturbance, and thank you for your patience and support.”

The next arranged night flying training after this will be on the week of Monday, August 3, followed by August 31.
