Four Lincolnshire schools with confirmed COVID-19 cases

They’re believed to be isolated cases

In less than a week since children returned, four schools in Lincolnshire had to take measures after confirmed cases of coronavirus.

Andy Fox, consultant in public health at Lincolnshire County Council, said that since the start of the autumn term cases have been confirmed at The Holt Primary School in Skellingthorpe (staff), Scampton C of E Primary School (pupil), King’s School in Grantham (pupil) and Spalding High School.

The council believes these are isolated cases and that there is no indication of an outbreak at any local school.

The Lincolnshire health boss said: “We would like to reassure people that these all appear to be isolated cases, and there are no indications of an ‘outbreak’ at any local school.

“Each school has taken the appropriate action to limit the potential spread of the virus, and parents have been informed. The schools are all open with the affected bubbles self-isolating in line with the government guidance.”

Meanwhile, Action for Children who run Spring Nursery at RAF Scampton confirmed one of the children tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend.
