Lincoln Odeon to remain open all week

Huge relief for Lincoln movie-goers

By Local Democracy Reporter

The Odeon in Lincoln is not one of the chain’s cinemas to close during the week as part of a national response delayed film releases.

The chain announced it would be closing a quarter of its 120 cinemas during the week, allowing them to open only on the weekends.

It came after Cineworld declared that it would close all its cinemas across the UK and US after the delayed release of the new 007 Bond film — but Odeon was more relaxed about it.

The Lincoln branch had only reopened in mid-August after numerous delays since its closure due to the COVID-19 lockdown in March.

Screenings of Saint Maud are being advertised on the Odeon website, but film lovers will now have to wait until April 2021 to watch the new James Bond film No Time To Die.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged people to go to the cinema to “support” movie theatres during the coronavirus pandemic.
