Potential return for Cleethorpes to London train route edging nearer

A direct route has been out of service for over 30 years

Hopes for the end of a more than 30 year wait for the return of a direct Cleethorpes to London train are higher than ever before, with MPs suggesting that a government decision on the route could be just weeks away, and getting the service back running as early as next year.

Cleethorpes to London King’s Cross via a direct train service was a valuable commuting route for the people of North Lincolnshire, until it was deemed financially unviable and scrapped in 1992.
