Lincolnshire facing tourism crisis as cancelled events taking toll on visitor economy

A bleak outlook for 2024 and poor weather doesn’t help

With Lincolnshire’s visitor economy still falling short of pre-COVID levels, a spate of cancelled events across the county is contributing to fewer people visiting the area.

Ahead of an Environment and Economy Scrutiny meeting at Lincolnshire County Council next week, a report on the county’s visitor economy shows worrying statistics for tourism in Greater Lincolnshire: a dip in trips to our visitor sites, fewer people staying in serviced accommodation and a quieter period for the council’s countryside car parks.
