Lincoln City to close training centre after staff in contact with coronavirus suspect

Staff do not show symptoms yet

By Local Democracy Reporter

Lincoln City Football Club are closing their Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre near RAF Scampton after members of staff recently came into contact with an individual who now displays symptoms of coronavirus.

It has been stressed by the club that this is a precautionary measure, and that no member or associate of the club have shown any symptoms of the virus.

Due to the suspension of the English Football League until 3rd April, first-team training was considered an unnecessary risk, instead opting to give players their own training routines to undertake away from the facilities.

As previously reported, all Imps matches have been postponed for the foreseeable future due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
